Situated within the conservation area on King Street in Manchester city centre, this three-storey building steeped in history has been dramatically reconfigured to create the acclaimed Spanish restaurant El Gato Negro.
The historic property had to be taken back to its original Victorian brick shell before complex structural alterations, a rooftop extension and a complete interior fit-out could be started.
The result is a grandiose yet intimate tapas restaurant, bar and charcuterie with an open-plan chef’s kitchen in the main restaurant and the spectacular Black Cat bar and lounge, complete with retractable roof, on the top floor.
With original mosaic artwork and an array of reclaimed charms across all three floors, El Gato Negro is a stunning new addition to Manchester’s vibrant restaurant scene and proved to be a great location to capture on camera.
